@Kurou I almost had a stroke reading your reply so it's safe to asume you weren't able to read properly that the engagement was official ever since the Saintess asked the ML to help her choose a dress, he was the only one saying it wasn't official so he would still look "available" in the eyes of Sofia but even if he didn't agree with the engagement it doesn't mean it wasn't official, it just means he lied out of selfishness, and it also doesn't excuse how poorly he treated his childhood friend, like I said this ML is scum that would be a "foolish noble that breaks up the engagement with his actually outstanding fiancé after mistreating her while he kept flirting with someone else before breaking off the engagement" in other stories.
