my personal theory since the work is new and has a lot of comparable similarities to the first work, some readers may have mentioned it feels like rereading BJ Alex and the author is thinking how to further distinguish the two so they truly do read as seperate stories. As an author, it's often hard to do a new work that feels unique in its own right after creating one that is regarded as a masterpiece or amazing by your readers. Part of it is wanting to replicate the aspects that made the masterpiece great in the first place to be sure the story does well. For those who can, please encourage the author so they feel motivated to overcome their personal hurdle
