Mutate means he changed his "gender", he was beta and he turned into an omega, so he mutate

This isn't really a "gender" it's more of a rank (originally within wolf pack) but yeah he was a beta but became an omega bc he was in contact with an alpha (who is going to be revealed later but u can already guess)
