I think the best outcome for him would be something like Daredevil and Batman. Those two characters aren't physically strong compared to people around them but they have skills, tools and intelligence that allow them to get the upper hand. I think the story may already be heading in this direction since he got an illusion technique as his power up.

@Cam Perry So is MC, but his opponents are superhuman.
@Cam Perry our mc needs to learn from that one guy who is also weak. Ask to get trained and learn how to fight like he does because I noticed that onee guy fights by hitting or using someones force as they strike against them (momentum)
