@beefyqueefs He ran away because he finally started opening himself to someone new, which was shown to be hard for him, and then realized he had been lied to the whole time. ML does all that stuff to him because he is generally sadistic and enjoys messing with MC, both mentally and physically, and asserting dominance. MC doesn't cry about the cigarettes, he cries because he's getting yelled at, which is really stressful for some people who grew up in a bad environment like he did, and because the guy mentioned that he doesn't have any parents. You can't just ignore all the circumstances when judging their characters.

@el__ mc is more understandable w his trauma, but their actions and rationale thus far have been concerning/straight up baffling. you can recognize that their actions are objectively bizzare while acknowledging their personal circumstances.
