@Vic Var He needed to react in a neutral manner in order to de-escalate the situation. Thus, he had to pretend in front of the loan sharks that he didn't really care one way or another. Jaekyung knew perfectly well what he was doing. His goal was to remove Dan and himself as quickly as possible. The only way to do that in the safest manner was to stay calm and rational regardless of the threat. After all, it was three against one (Dan was too distraught and injured to be of help). Jaekyung didn't violently react until he was forced to.
