Honestly I quite like the ML of this story, even if the fact that he suddenly turned around to love SJ after SJ told him he wasn't in love anymore is a little icky, we have to remember that the original SJ was a bit of a creep.
You can find his behavior acceptable because it's a webcomic, but irl that's called sexual harassment. I mean the dude literally went into the bed of ML without him knowing! I'd be pis*** off.
The fact that ML even though he feels romantic feelings for SJ right now, still decided to not act upon it, or show jealous or possessive action because he feels SJ wouldn't like it is very thoughtful when we know how he had been treated before, and even more compared to other MLs from other stories. I know the bar is low but still, I like Mr. Yan, I want to give him cookies
