Ahhh. I'm conflicted. The grand duke is projecting his dead wife on the fl's mother. I have a feeling that she's his "dead" wife and the FL is is his biological daughter because when his wife's body was found, there was no trace of the baby. The emperor might've kept her safe after the accident and maybe she lost her memories. I hope I'm right because I'll feel very uncomfortable with the idea that the duke is projecting his wife on the fl's mother.

@Jiang Sha Wei somehow..I just feel that the story line..or actually...she was the real daughter but not a real daughter to her mother

@epheria we don't know quite yet because we're still unaware about the duke's dead wife's background. Also, the FL said they she and her mother were hidden from others so we can't really rule out the possibility of "the duke's dead wife was an abandoned princess and they married and she got pregnant with the third child (the fl) when the wife was in a carriage accident. The emperor rescued them, but the wife lost her memories and the emperor (with either good not bad intentions) hid the wife and her child from others." And MAYBE the dead wife's "body" that was discovered wasn't actually the wife but the body of someone who either resembles her or someone used magic to make it look like her.
AND I think that way because the duke's presumably "dead" wife's child was nowhere to be found. So I assume the mother is actually the duke's wife who lost her memories and the FL is the duke's daughter

@Jiang Sha Wei i remember reading the novel before but it's been years so i forgot some stuff and i only read around 40-ish chapters.

So from what I remember in the novel there was no such scene as suddenly the duke's deceased wife'

*No deceased wife's soul telling calling him out and telling him to take care of FL & mom & no scene of him blushing towards FL's mom the first time. Iirc there was also no scene where the mom was conscious ever since they got teleported to the duke's mansion until weeks later.

@Jiang Sha Wei NGL the fls mother is weak it might be them thoo after all they went into a carriage so there's a possibility that the man who was sending to their destination kidnapped them and goes to another place
