he's talking about Mashito being MC's cousin. In some countries marriage with a cousin is acceptable, while in others it isn't. In Japan it's seen as "a little weird, but ok", most likely due to how people used to intermarry within a clan. In US it's considered to be "sweet home Alabama" territory of weird.
