two things, one regardless if they turn into a human at some point they were a animal and they're for still are consider said animal so really there is no difference besides you have two options one taboo and one not. two my point is we could have a cool dragon friend rather then a love interest. Not saying I don't love the idea of her being a love interest I'm just saying there could have been other ways for making the pair work like maybe she could have been a dragon rider or something you know.
