i have a theory, at the beginning the guy who she let go escaped (the guy screaming : "monster!" and bumped into aurora) was bitten somewhere secluded. that's why the apocalypse started earlier than expected. bc of that guy escaping, if he didn't escape out that gate, the apocalypse wouldn't start 10 days early. Why, you ask? when the first monster we saw during that chapter, it was tied up right? how strange, no one could've survived that long, maybe that guy hid for quite the long time until MC arrived but it was too late and was bitten already..
