People act like characters are real people and try to cancel them instead of enjoying the story, it’s so strange. The “communicate” comments are redundant too.
Also sometimes with green flag stories the authors struggle to make the characters adults, they write them like children who do adult things and it can be pretty off putting
@BLinmyveins I wrote this with just a desire to let off someone steam after being quite pissed about how a lot of readers basically completely throw the character personality out the window, I wanted to cover all the bases without an idiotic debate too, that is why this is so long, though I do feel like treating a character like a real person in a way (to acknowledge not only good and bad writing, but how its not ok to normalize or romanticize some actions in media just cause it isn't real) but I get what you're trying to say, I also see what you are saying when authors baby their characters, specifically when they treat them like their perfect and refuse character development, and just intensify the toxicity
