@Aillisha yeah not something like this king realised his mistake not because he truly regrets and feel guilty but because he just realised his actions caused mc to run away so then he thinks he'll just change his ways so mc won't run from him , many toxic mL are like this, they never truly regrets or repent on their actions for harming other rather they just regreted their action not for genuine reason but rather it's a control thing so theyr realised and change their tactics which many are honestly convinced that they actually repented and regret rather they just regreted losing but didn't feel a tint remorse , while later some blind will say , he redeem himself and turned the greenest flag , I say the opposite, they turned into a upgraded level of manipulators
