maybe i'm in the minority but... i think this was for the best. their relationship still has a lot of healing to do. specifically, Eihyun's forgiveness toward Taeju for his own ábuse is not healthy and shows an extremely sad familiarity with pain - he's used to people hurting him, so he doesn't expect anything better for himself.
When they were living together, Taeju should have pardoned the debt, made more efforts to catch that piece of shít speed donor debtor, and given Eihyun the opportunity to do what he wants with his life. Whether that's living with him or taking up work elsewhere and not having to see his âbuser for a while. None of that happened, and although I understand Taeju' reasons, the root cause of their relationship issues ultimately went unaddressed.
