@WerIzMyBigBroSpoilingLittleSis In the early chapters she pointed out that she named herself "Ivy" so either she didn't have a name before that or she had one she didn't know about. Either way she's better off with a different name then the villagers know about so she can't be found by them.
@Yuki I thought she may have forgotten her original name since her family started acting like she didn't exist once she turned up starless. It comes up in child trafficking in the real world -young children forget any names they were given. 😥
@Galactic Navy Officer UPDATE: Apparently she had a name but it was ugly and more importantly she DEFINITELY needed to change it because they decided to use it against her to try to track her down so they could kill her...that village and her family are SERIOUSLY sh*tty.
@Yuki I think it's more her family, the village chief, and his supporters who are shi*** -the nonshitty ones seem to bailing left and right once they realized how batshit the chief was.
