I actually do not even know why they are married still. The wife does not give him a time of day and he keeps flirting to a dead fish. They should go seperate ways, he can always help as a "friend" especially since he found someone he rather be in a relationship with. I was hoping the author have it the ML divorces and dates the short hair chick since that is the relationship flow.
