So essentially that snake guy was in the same breeding lab as the other two and attempted to breed Rimbaud. Some how he was bought for this trial and leveled up. The snake guy begins taunting the lion about what he did to Rimbaud in the breeding room and talks about how weak the lion is. He seriously wounded the lion since the lion couldn't open his eyes to fight because it will turn him to stone. After a team mate set off the bomb Rimbaud ran to lion to see the damage and lion injected him with the same accelerant that made the snake guy evolve. So now Rimbaud is in the mature phase and is strong enough to fight snake guy. Sorry it's been a while since I read the story and my explanation might be confusing
