Most manhwa shades black that way. Same for manhua. Probably to make it more appealing?
Gotta add some color to it, so that the high lights and low lights create shape, and makes it not look so flat. Most animes do this too, like in Inuyasha. Kagome's hair is black yet she has blue high lights. ?
