It's a stylized depiction of a human skeleton, so it could be either. the bones have both male and female characteristics. not only that but it's extremely hard borderline impossible to tell if an unknown skeleton is male or female unless you know its geographical location. (here is a scholarly article on the matter) "The methods were evaluated for their consistency in determination of s**. No single individual was identified as belonging to one s** exclusively.
