The FL doesn't know that he is 'good'/'better'...we know it cuz we hav read so many things. but just b in their shoes.. i think i would b very confused too.
This is why the authors r always soo talented. When they write the novels, i think they put themselves, all their personalities and ways of thinking to b exactly like the characters....Hats off for them.
