@Mushy I mean, there's a lot of danmei that doesn't just focus on that aspect, so I'm going to need you to be more specific. If you want manipulative and morally gray MLs, you should definitely read 《Flying gulls never land》An excellent novel that explores the deep psychological aspects of both the mc and the ml, with the ml's character being extremely complex and twisted and the mc equally intriguing
