Alright i've just finished reading from chapter 1 so here's my thought:
The grandfather dabbing in dark magic and his affection directed solely to lulu made me think that he might've made lulu as something akind to a key maybe to connect the living and the dead's world? Maybe lulu should've been dead together with mom that's why they hate her existence bcs it's something sinister?
And lobelia mentioned that without helio, the plan can't be executed so maybe their death was actually s**cide to lock all gates of he**? that maybe at the time was already opened once?
I'll let this marinate for some more so maybe see you in a year!
