Dude, if it's going to stay in this idiotic situation, just get rid of that guy. "It's for her own good," so I'm going to make her have trauma from her first relationship, because it's "for her own good." The writing simply got bad, adding a problem that breaks and regresses the ML's own character development, and the story simply became awful.
