He is a s*y person who did amazingly s*y things, but if I did all the same mistakes he did.... I too would esitate to go directly, especially when you know you are not welcome. I would at least wait a while and then send a message to say hey, I have your stuff, and I want to see you. Just to see if he is okay with meeting face to face, instead of meeting up without notice.
