I feel bad about feeling bad for the black haired dude, because from the flashbacks it's evident he was just not able to empathise with other's pain, but still, you end up becoming who you hate, and I think, for this dude, it's the father. In his own fuc*** up way, he was looking for affection, care, love, someone which literally no one provided except for Ruby. He didn't even know what affection was, let along know how he was supposed to feel affection for a sister. And I think, he clearly does not know how to love someone, he just craves someone's acknowledgement. And the only person who ever acknowledged him, got "taken away". And that misery of being with his own self, created this monster who's beyond repair.
So, ofcourse this doesn't justifies his actions, but it's just sad how adults failed a child who needed help.
