Comment on ChapterUnder The Oak Tree - Chapter 136
I like Maxi's development, she's become stronger and braver whereas at first she looked like she wouldn't escape from the "fragile traumatized beautiful FL" cliché.
On the other hand I feel like she chewed more than she could swallow and now she risks endangering her health and becoming a burden to the people around her.
She's not trained like princess Agnes and even Ruth who always shouldered her decisions advised her to rest. Having read some comments from readers who know the novel well I'm not expecting anything good to come but I'm eager to know how the story will evolve.
To be honest, I'm not extremely fond of Riftan's character but I feel like this time he had some good points, even though his way of communicating is awful.

Just feeling is a subversive act but expressing it is rebellious

@Seiryuu   I  hope they wouldn't  follow the novel fully really , but we will see .
@Qumopi yeah, we'll see. By the way I can bear  even a good amount of angst as long as the quality of the writing stays consistent. I hope for a serene ending, thoughpoco sticker

@Seiryuu My issue with Riftan is that a lot of this is because of his interference. Like he has good points, but the points are only good because he continually put her down and prevented her from getting trained properly. Its a self-fulfilling prophecy. If he had let her train and grow properly, she wouldnt have felt like she needed to sneak around to prove herself and either would not have been here at all, or worked her way UP to being notably ready to be here. So like...hes technically correct but Im not gonna give him any credit for it because its largely his doing that she is here while not being ready to be here.
@BlueBay I agree with you if you're referring to the earliest chapters, when Riftan used to throw a fit whenever he found her in the library with Ruth or when he tried to prevent her from practising her healing powers with the people inside the castle. I hated how he used to yell at her and treat her like a child instead of trying to have a proper conversation with her, even though he didn't mean to hurt her. On the other hand, I don't think his interference has much to do with her current situation. Maxi has always been stubborn and many times she acted on her own will, taking unnecessary risks  just to prove herself to be worth of esteem. Both Ruth and princess Agnes had warned to be more careful and to carry on her magic studies, because apparently it takes a long time to become an experienced healer. So yes, it's true that Riftan fueled her insecurity but imo it was objectively too early for her to go to war. Although the forthcoming drama will help her to grow as a woman and as a mage, I think it could have been avoided if she had been a little more cautious.
