@s3lbstm0rd they can't singlehandedly take a manhwa down yet they continue to read it? Calling someone a 'white savior' jus for pointing out a narrative sequence is a massive stretch esp since you dont even know my race.my point was purely abt the fandom's blatant double standards. If we are talking abt things that are 'strongly inaccurate and insensitive' to real world trauma, a survivor of sexual assault would never willingly get together with their abuser. Yet the BL community treats 'assault to lovers' stories as absolute masterpieces, giving toxic characters endless thirst edits and redemption arcs. If readers can separate fiction from reality to romanticize literal abuse, they can apply that same logic to a dark historical setting. Im jus pointing out the hypocrisy of drawing the line at one uncomfortable theme while celebrating another. Nvm i won't say anything after this.

@gaymensslut I wasn't calling you a white savior, I don't understand where you got that from, the MC is the white savior in this story. The people who criticize r*e manhwa obviously do not read them, and my point still stands. Two bad things can coexist, and both are treated with the same manner, it's just some authors are more respectful and hold themselves accountable, such as jaxx. The only reason the manhwa was discontinued is because the author made a conscious decision to stop it after realizing their insensitivity towards the topic. So no, there isn't as much of a hypocrisy you think there is, it's totally up to the author how far criticism will get to them and if they're willing to challenge their morals and respect victims of any kind.
