@Hannah Bello   Dominic is Primus and Logan wants to take over his  body because having the original body of Primus will give him ultimate vampiric powers.  (If you've watched the originals, it's how Klaus used to put his soul in other peoples bodies so that he could keep his own body safe.) From that concept, Dominic -who is Primus-will either exist inside Logan if Logan takes over his body but he won't be able to function, or his soul will jump into Logan's body because he has been transferred . Logan has been holding on to Eugene because seemingly, Eugene has the blue heart which means that he's a catalyst for the ritual. As we saw, he was able to unveil Primus who had shifted into Dominic because Primus is less blo*** thirsty in a human form .That's why Logan wants Eugene to be under his control , because Eugene is probably Dominic's (Primus) fated pair .
