@_ she's sheltered and from what you read at the beginning she's not really been educated much besides how to be a proper lady and take a hobby. yes, some people can truly live in ignorance like this, and from what you saw before we got thrown into flashback void, she does understand why everyone (unfairly) hate her. also consider that maybe she didn't actually say those words like that but it was MLs biased POV since now he knows who she is and let his hate for the marquis warp his perception of her

@wowo this great talk about her ignorance is glorified infantalization. there was no possible way that all this injustice went on in her household and country and she had no way of knowing if she had a shred of critical thinking, which means she chose to ignore things at some point. and she did. she saw someone so mad at her recital and considered it a tantrum, people died under her father's watch and didn't bother asking a single soul about it. when you're THIS ignorant, it becomes a choice. and that was her sin.
@wowo she chose to be sheltered and live in her own fantasy bubble lol, even her said that herself. She had plenty of times to know what the ruckus was about during her recital but she didn't bother with it. Just like every privileged human being who enjoys basking themselves in peace and wealth, unaware of other people's lives. She was never innocent as you all say she is. She had opportunities to know what was up but she just turned a blind eye, and it was her own choice to not pursue knowledge despite knowing an inkling about it. At this point ignorance is HER SIN.
