Alright I agree that Ares is overstepping his boundaries as an instructor and he deserves criticism, but he is also a demon he has feelings and if you're okay with spoilers you can read my comment below I explained there why Ares treats mc like this. Although I'd recommend you to read the novel.
It's on the level were I might read it again someday (it's still ongoing and based on my intuition it's not even half-completed). It has some inconsistencies but what I like about it how conflict between humans and demons works. First character from protagonist party may make you feel like it's cliche with humans being bad and demons good but no, it's not that simple. Even now we readers don't know the whole truth.
And so far in the novel it seems that original protagonist although hates demons, isn't the type of person who blindly follows his convictions he too tries to uncover the truth. I really hope author won't turn him into hypocrite, it would be a shame if he did.
