I hate stories that frame morality on what the MC does.
The girl with the cap was right, they shouldn't have cultivated there, and she was right in abandoning the cousing. If MC was not there (and in his previous life he was not), the cousing and the others would have died, and the girl that went back also was another casualty that fed the monster.

@Karkadan Both sides had their rights and Wrong it's not really a morality thing here
@Neuro Morphine I appreciate your comment, and I know that I'm reading too much into a chinese comic I didn't like, but I should explain myself in case someone else read this.

In storytelling, there is this saying of 'show, don't tell' and here we're told that she fuc*** up, but the MC saved her, so everything is fine.
But what  we are shown is that she didn't do anything 'wrong'. Sure, the guys running were trying to save their lives, but they were cowards. Sure, the girl trying to save her friend would have died and fed the monster, but she was a good friend. Sure, the girl was stubborn and just wanted to grab more power, putting everyone at risk, and still refused to run away when she was surrounded,  but oh she was saved and everything is fine.

I'm just a bitter person and it bothers me when an author tries to frame everything a MC does as good. I'm not asking for an always good character, morally grey characters are fine, but please authors don't frame them as good and justified and the do the cop out of "but I SAID what they did isn't good"
