I am really hoping they don't blame him. Because I truly don't think he would've been strong enough to continue helping people with his family dead. And I feel like they all realize that fact as well.
They also were fighting and exploring for a while after the initial wave, they could've tried fighting their way through.
But I feel like that with all the troupes the band splitting troupe is next in line.
