Something more must have happened between them if this Volk leader is so obsessed with Ruce. Honestly, even if Ruce and Red deal with this psycho, I don't think that during the war or after it both could live happily and peacefully somewhere. Ruce was shaped by the military and family into a government machine. In turn, Red has become such a symbol of a warrior of the anti-volks coalition. Either they will fake their deaths in some way, or they will retire in gratitude for their service. Although imo the first seems more likely.

Volks Leader killed Cecilie in the bomb site. but this is how they met. She became obsessed with Ruce ever since. I think that the Leader want her to be hers, Ruce refused.
