@Alvis Yeah I guess, but she is literally just a fictional plot device, you guys are too overly obsessive.

@Jambo fiction is a medium to let out your creativity and for audience it's a medium for experiencing things that would've never happened irl. It deals with the very emotion we are talking about. when we get immersed into a story it's only natural to feel certain emotions towards certain characters. That's how a story is made. You might be able to look at it as just a bystanders but that's not true for everyone else. Those who are serious readers will always have certain emotions towards certain characters. Author also knows this and that's why they use rachel this way. To you it's nothing serious but to others this is equivalent to another life and all the characters in this story are very much real to them. Hating on certain characters is normal. That's the point of making them bad. When the audience gets too agitated and threatens the author in anyway then it's too much. Then you can say that readers are overly excessive. Until then this is just normal.
