Comment on ChapterChronicles of the Demon Faction - Chapter 43
If freedom was truly his priority, and had he been pragmatic and ruthless, he would have used the deaths of his travel companions as an opportunity to leave.

When I was just starting to learn about murim fiction, I was confused and thought the heavenly demon sect was the "evil faction" because of the portrayal of evil demonic sects in chinese cultinovs.

All 3 murim factions have evil people mixed in them. This faction has the overly ambitious in their pursuit of personal and/or social power (like the poisonous sibling that the mc crippled). The unorthodox faction has taboo breakers (like that deas sound arts charmer girl). The orthodox have hypocrites (like the ganbatte break-a-leg elder).

In chinese cultinovs, pretty much most of the characters have ambiguous morality, so they just get grouped (often temporarily) as mc's allies, mc's enemies, and strangers. Also, some characters inexplicably disappear when the author forgets about them.

@mmhmm    did you even read it he's burdened by having new relationships which is understandable and not debatable Where'd you get that unreasonable and dumb accusations.
@Babe
Sorry. Only the first paragraph was of real relevance to the chapter, and was only a what-if idea at that.

The rest (about ¾) is just a rant of my how my understanding of murim fiction changed.

Unlike western fiction (aimed at kids) where good and evil are clearly delineated, the people in murim, regardless of faction, are not.
@mmhmm if we are talking about physical freedom you are right but what kind of free life would he live if he left his companions to just die and if his ultimate goal is to truly attain freedom he won't sacrifice a part of his sanity for something inevitable that is yet to come
