I mean yes that was him in the beginning...but in the end, it was going nowhere, and decided to let him go. That's why he said to get out of his house. He rather loses the person he ends up loving than see the person he loves die. That is the beauty of the story...and I think when Minho thanked him for saving him...I think it was both metaphorically and literally.
