Ellencia’s perfect face painted with the act of filial piety was distorted." It later says that the blonde girl/The real princess must beg her father to let Catherine go free and runs to his office, Phil goes after her and tells her no because she knows that if she asks him Catherine will die. Phil gets weak when she tries opening the doors to his Office and he sees her outside his office and tells Her and the blonde girl/The real Princess to go inside his office and the blonde girl/The real Princess begs him to let Catherine go and he does. Phil realizes that the blonde girl/The real princess was trying to actually kill Catherine for some reason. I also said that Jeremiah is a big threat to phil and he is in a black hole as this is all happening, She tells her father to untie him and get him out and said she planned to let him go after talking with the fake dad but got caught up with the Blonde Girl. She wants to get on his good side so he Isn't a threat to her, She gives him sweets because in the book it says that he likes sweets and uses that to try and get Jeremiah on her side. I personally think that the blonde girl/The real princess did that to try and get rid of Catherine because she thinks that she knows her secret when she probably doesn't so she tried getting rid of her/getting her killed.
