@Bill Kenney He's six as far as they know, so maybe he thinks it would sound weird? He can do the rest of that as he gets older. Because we know that the Hero's Book is going to be the excuse for all kinds of things. 

(There probably are pictures in the thing. Some things are easier to explain with a diagram.)

@Galactic Navy Officer He also might be mentally regressing.  It's highly likely that he's making excuses for his desires and behavior rather than intentionally trying to behave like a child.  Also, I get the impression that in his previous life, his mental development was more childlike anyway.

@Prinzinc Well, yeah, adult software on kid hardware, something's got to give. And it happened to Ryoma.

@Galactic Navy Officer Ryoma's story made total sense. The author did a good job at representing it throught the story quite well.
