I don’t know why, but I get the feeling that Aurora isn’t as kind as she seems. It might be a facade she’s putting on to be pitied by everyone. By contrast, Karina doesn’t seem as bad as she’s made out to be, especially given her past life, where she always had to play the sacrificing older sister despite only wanting to be loved by her family. Even the hair colors and names feel stereotypical: black for Karina and most likely blonde for Aurora—a fitting name for a fairytale princess. Since yuri manga often show things from the villainess’s perspective, in this story Aurora and especially Prince Orlando seem to be the ones pushing Karina toward madness. We see Aurora give the prince a kind of glare that’s unlike her gentle nature, and he even seems a little scared of her—oddly enough. So I think she might be a bit crazy underneath the weak, fragile-girl persona.

It’s always interesting to see sisters who were once close being set against each other; it really draws people in. Aurora had plenty of time to learn about her sister and saw how Karina was sometimes treated because of her—though none of it was Aurora’s intention, since it was mostly adults’ bad decisions. A bigger twist would be if she actually feigned sickness more than she let on. Yet after all that, Aurora never seems to defend her sister. No matter what, her introversion can’t excuse her silence. Moreover, Karina is constantly portrayed as a bad person by the background characters while Aurora is loved so much. It would be a big twist if Aurora turned out to be the ultimate evil—that would be so sick to see! Furthermore, while Aurora may seem to be trying to be a savior, perhaps to live up to her forgiving nature, it’s also possible that she wants to keep her sister caged—or something even more twisted. We’ll see about that.
