yeah i really doubt, that were wolf form was enought to even cause them much trouble
if they smuggle him stratigically maybe they could delay next attacks, but i hightly doubt there was any considering he just wanted to send him out to cause touble

the king is most definately a ass****, but they have been playing 4 way 4x games just to survive, if one of them lose the kingdom is doomed
i don't think he's gonna stop his father, maybe turn everyone less ruthless tho

for this, i really think, it may just have been the artist's/adaptation's fault
he did try to stop the village's distruction
and even his mother goes, don't blame yourself

so either it hasn't hit yet, or the artst forgot a page
