@Nate though, I'm pretty sure these people wouldn't mind romance so long as the author knows how to incorporate romance into the story without disrupting the flow, because that's how I am as a reader, if author wants to add romance I don't mind so long as they do it right, what bothers people isn't the romance itself but whether the author has the ability to write it. I've read lots of romance where author doesn't even know how to write one and ended up being heavily disappointed, in fact, there are times where adding romance makes the story better because you want to see how they'd manage while the plot develops making it better, but it's just that there are barely any content where romance was done well without ruining the pacing and development of the story. An example of this is "I became the Male lead's wife" after mc finally gave in to male lead's desire to start a relationship with her, plot got stopped and seems like author just stalling chapters with several of it being just push-and-pull scenarios that people just want the author to let the story progress at all. That one had a really good and strong start but it kinda went down at that part
