if an individual is talented enough, monopolies don't matter. In fact, the very fact that a genius has their own logo and can only sell to a few customers greatly jumps the value of their product. You can think of it like a world phenomena band only playing at independant venues. It doesn't matter how much pressure ticket sellers put on them, where they play the people will go.
