Oh and btw., Aria views Asher in a different light over time because he's smart, respects and challenges her.
And he's interested in her because she displays a great talent to grasp the situation around her and react in a smarter than usualy way to it, also because she's very assertive due to her PTSD from getting killed. So she too challenges him. And her view differs from those of usual nobles. So she really IS different. Just like he is.
They both are smart (and smart does by no means translate to "perfect", "knows everything", "is ahead of everybody per se" etc., that'd be unrealistic af and utter bs to expect, this only is the case in Mary Sue stories, one of the worst type of stories there is). And they can support each other as equals.
And that is what a genuinely good relationship truly is about.
