I think mafu will never get over yuki. I don't think it's love, but because of his guilt that led yuki to kill himself. Ueno is someone very passionate about music and he will always choose music above everything and everyone èlse. So the best way is to let them cool off until they figure out what they want to achieve in life. They are in highschool and having a relationship just like this esp with the same gender is just gonna confuse them and hinder them from growing. They can not figure out what they want since they're young. Even adults can't figure things out as well. I just hope that the author will focus on their friendship rather than romantic feelings. Give it time.

He was not even thinking about yuki to begin with until they played his song he was worried about his and uenoyama's relationship and music and totally haunted by his past trauma, his ex boyfriend killed him self over a stupid fight which he believes is his fault, thing like that you just can't shake till you die to be honest IT IS A BIG DEAL. Which was not even his fault because yuki always has suicidal tendencies his mother also mentioned he was just like father ( who took his own life just like he did) she also said to mafuyu that he was like a anchor for yuki to hold on to this world, yuki portrait a dominant character and put on wall upfront and created a super perfect personality but he was suffering from self conscious and self doubts , at beach he said "I am sure you gonna forget about this day" and the more he talked felt like he was not seeing mafuyu in future (self doubt) thou mafuyu was everything for him he never wanted mafuyu to see that side of his that's why he never asked mafuyu to join the band, he created a boundary around him and pushed him away he knew mafuyu's love for music but still he left him behind, he wanted to write a song for mafuyu in all his own but all mafuyu wanted him to understand that he wanted to do it with him, due to his parental trauma mafuyu never had courage to keep his thoughts up front and he still struggles as he mentioned " my dad hits me when I speak" that's a lot man, childhood trauma is no joke, yuki pushed him to the point that he stopped seeing him that made mafuyu angry(of course) yuki said I can't live without you in reply he said "so are you gonna die for me then? It was normal couple fight but for yuki it was more like a permission due to his suicidal tendencies SAD!! but toxic yuki kept him in a box and mafuyu never realised it because of his introvert nature on the other hand
but on the other hand uenoyama gave mafuyu wings, he gave him freedom to express him self which mafuyu never thought he was capable of, more then anything mafuyu needs to heal from heal traumas the trauma his dad caused, the trauma yuki caused (unknowingly) but he also deserves to be loved and I am so happy uenoyama and mafuyu found each other I want to see light development in their relationship after all uenoyama went through so much trouble to create that song for mafuyu it was not easy he did because he loves him that much. I want to see more romantic scenarios specially uenoyama's gay panic moments which are so adorable, uenoyama is very considerate, warm and kind hearted top of that he's so genuine mafuyu deserves a person like that in his life he suffered ALOT he is so precious and he deserves the world ♥️
Me too🥹
I agree with Akshi too, and thanks for make me understand why yuki killed himself, i've read and rewatch both the anime and manga but idk i just had it in the tip of my brain but i never fully understood, so thanks. But now is even more painful, yuki doesn't apear a lot but he has a special place in my heart:
thanks you I know you need deep sense of empathy to understand in most of the mangas/animes auther tells everything in detail that what characters are feeling and why they did what they did, it's amusing in "Given" auther didn't sever everything on the platter butshe made us work to understand the emotions which are so deep
