I'll assume this is not a rpg more like COD type thing where levels don't mean too much? Even then though, their gear difference be too too great? I guess i can't apply mmo logic to this game system. If it was more like The King's Avatar i'd understand but it looks like an mmo...

Think open world VR. Great weapons dont help if you suck at swinging your arms in the right direction or react too slowly. They will show him being able to do these actual fights IRL later cuz he fit fit.
