@ando I'm understands where are you coming from with this standpoint, a lot of popular titles in this genre are poorly written. My issue with them is lack of realism in art (manhwas are the worst offenders, why it's always fridge-like shoulders and small heads?) and juvenile writing (nothing that characters do leads to realistic consequences, reactions are off- either unnecessarily dramatic or not strong enough for situation).
But I'm also drawn towards qeer media as a bi guy, so I read them if they seem like stories, not caricatures of the gay couples. If you are open to reading something new, I highly recommend "Dear Gene". It's not long story, but very complex. S** scenes are present, but they have meaning to the story and aren't cheaply pornographic.
