This is what I liked about Hestia. She's doing it not only for Kaelus but also for herself as someone who experienced all the traumas of the past till the current. That trauma and experience paved her the way to change things, especially for Kaelus. For me, Hestia's action is not only rooted on what Kaelus experience in the past, but also on how Hestia experience it as well (remember the time when Hestia went and asked the church to heal them but neglected by Diana because she doesn't want to do it anymore). Its just that Hestia doesn't realize it that her actions is also rooted to her traumas personally that's why she can't think as of the moment what to do once the mission she set for Kaelus' sake is done. I just hope they let show this since in the novel, her thinking is still rooted for Kaelus sake, and not admitting that for once, Hestia also asked help to them but neglected and died miserably.

@aeeeeeeeeeeeee Don't forget what also makes Hestia a great MC compared to most is that she actually thinks about the consequences of her schemes/actions before she commits to them; no reckless seizing of opportunitistic events for minor gains, no mindless gambles, and especially her trying and actually succeeding for the most part at not letting emotions get in the way of her plans. Every scheme, gamble, action, etc is well thoughtout by Hestia, it's no wonder every one of her schemes succeeded in the novel.......
Spoiler!
.....well minus the one with getting Diana abdicated but even then that was Kaelus simply changing his mind after deciding that Hestia doesn't need to fu** over Diana anymore. Tho the fact Helios eventually divorces Diana anyways and marries a nicer girl, is still a win for Hestia in my book.
