@Lomo absolutely! You can hug them too and it's all platonic, just ask how long they've been friends for because I'd only feel comfortable doing that to friends I've had for years and years but that's just me

@Lomo If your boyfriend tells his granny's dog "I missed you", will you think he has some suspicious relation with said dog ?

Don't jump the gun. It's normal/ok to miss our relatives.

What is "less" (=not) normal, is to hope you'd be the only person/interest in your relatives' lives. Akin to narcissism.
