@Pumpkin I mean, If i were him i Would and kill her family so they can't do anything to retaliate. Kill the empress and her evil offspring too along with her family as punishment for her crimes. But he's stupid for thinking its a good idea to try bringing shulina back into that place with that b*tch and her daughter still around.

@Silent Me don't forget that they're in a political relationship so he was probably stuck with no choice but to do it with her occasionally so a child would happen eventually regardless of whether he wanted one with her or not.

@Pumpkin I think it's because of the Empress' family. Remember, her family is powerful and is in charge of fertile lands for the Empire so they provide resource plus her Father is the head of the Nobility. If he were to execute her without prior reasons or evidences, he could be in a very unstable position and ruin his reputation as an Emperor
