@H i s o k a   Hir is a step son.  Not the blonde original owner's son.  She married Hir's dad & maybe Dad & the Duke are related somehow.  

@Nope No maybe about it if the kingdom's more than a century or two old. WWI is called one big (European) royal family squabble for a reason.
